The colourful and dymamic show of authentic Russian dances and songs at Nikolaevsky Palace performed by 4 talented music ensembles: 'Peter's Quartet', 'The Souvenir', 'Maidan', 'Stars of St. Petersburg'.

DURATION: 2 hours. The show consists of two parts (45 minutes each) with a 30 minute intermission during which you are provided a glass of champagne and a light snack.

'Peter's Quartet' is a vocal quartet who specialize in classical performances of folk songs, lyrical romances and Russian Orthodox hymns.

'The Souvenir' is a folk instrumental trio. The three skillful musicians brilliantly perform folk compositions. Along with accordion and the balalaika, which are traditional Russian instruments, some rare and even exotic music instruments are played by this group. You will listen to the amazing traditional Russian folk melodies performed with the objects not normally used for music-playing. Their performances are full of humor and demonstrate high professionalism and virtuosity of the musicians.

'Maidan' is a Cossack song-and-dance group founded in 1992 by the honored artist V. Drachev. The name of the group originates from the place, where all Cossacks used to gather in the past and where important political decisions were made. The group skillfully performs Cossack songs and dances in their original form.

'The Stars of St. Petersburg' is a dance group. The dancers are graduates of the leading choreography schools in Russia. Its repertoire covers lyrical dances of the Russian North, fiery dances of the Cossacks from the Don and Voronezh, short dances from the Urals and Siberia with all their subtle humor. All age groups and even the most demanding audiences will appreciate not only the ability of the performers to bring Russian national color to the stage, but also their impressive skills, complexity of their acrobatic tricks and breath-taking leaps.

The highlight of my tours with Guide-Guru was an evening Folk Show of authentic Russian dances and songs at Nikolaevsky Palace. I didn't want the performances to end. Our guide and driver met us at the ship, drove us to the Palace, and the driver was waiting for us in the same spot after the show was over. All went just as planned. It was a most wonderful evening.
